Further down the system are two planar lambda sensors, after which the pipes merge into a single collector leading to a NOx storage catalyst.

However, they are sensitive to low temperatures, with starting issues commonly reported in freezing conditions below -17°C. In such cases, the ECU delivers an overly rich air-fuel mixture, flooding the spark plugs.
