Volvo S40 2004
Good car. Visually beautiful. Small but compact, will fit tall dudes (the fifth one will have to make his own way). Can't complain about boot space. Excellent if you're a student, not too expensive to maintain. Parts are relatively cheap. I've only changed one bearing in 9 months. The 2-litre diesel is economical and reasonably peppy. Pros: Good car. I use it a lot as I work as a courier - no major problems. If you look after it regularly, it will last a long time, as with any car. Of the 4 cars I have owned at a fairly young age, this has definitely been the most reliable.
Cons: Incomprehensible electronics. Rust will do its work in time, but only around one arch for now. I'm 1.90m so it tends to be a bit tight, but I'm not complaining too much. Has become a bit sluggish due to turbine wear. Visibility is kind of the same, but you can get by.
