Opel Mokka is a subcompact crossover SUV first introduced in 2012. It was developed under General Motors and later continued under PSA and Stellantis ownership. The first generation (2012–2019), initially known as Mokka and later facelifted as Mokka X in 2016, was built on GM’s Gamma II platform and positioned as a compact SUV for urban and light off-road use. Global production exceeded one million units, reflecting strong demand in Europe.

The first generation offered a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, including a 1.4-liter turbo petrol producing around 140 horsepower and 1.6- and 1.7-liter CDTI diesel units. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations were available, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. The 2016 facelift introduced updated styling, improved infotainment systems with touchscreen interfaces, and refined engine options for better efficiency and emissions.

The second generation, launched in 2020, moved to the PSA CMP platform, significantly reducing weight and introducing electrification. Engine options included a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine with outputs up to 130 horsepower, as well as the fully electric Mokka-e featuring a 50 kWh battery and an electric motor producing 136 horsepower. The new generation adopted Opel’s Vizor front design, fully digital instrument displays, and enhanced driver assistance systems.

In user reviews, the Opel Mokka is often described as a compact SUV that feels bigger than it looks. Drivers highlight its elevated seating position, confident road presence, and manageable size for city driving. The newer generation earns praise for its bold styling and improved technology, while the electric version is valued for smooth, quiet operation. On the other hand, some owners mention limited rear legroom, a modest trunk compared to larger SUVs, and firm suspension on uneven roads. Early models are occasionally criticized for average interior materials, though many still regard the Mokka as a practical and versatile everyday crossover.
