When the control system detects slip or predicts reduced grip from sensor inputs, an electronically controlled hydraulic multi-plate clutch in the rear drive unit progressively couples the rear axle. Torque transfer is variable, automatic, and managed through wheel-speed, throttle, steering-angle, and VSA/traction-control data.
