Volvo XC60 is a more dynamic driving.
Nissan X-Trail engine produces 13 HP less power than Volvo XC60, whereas torque is 20 NM less than Volvo XC60. Due to the lower power, Nissan X-Trail reaches 100 km/h speed 1.6 seconds later.

Fuel consumption

Fuel consumption (l/100km): 8.18.3
Real fuel consumption: 8.9 l/100km8.6 l/100km
By specification Nissan X-Trail consumes 0.2 litres less fuel per 100 km than the Volvo XC60, which means that by driving the Nissan X-Trail over 15,000 km in a year you can save 30 litres of fuel.
But when we compare the real fuel consumption reported by users, Nissan X-Trail consumes 0.3 litres more fuel per 100 km than the Volvo XC60.

Drive type

Wheel drive type: 4x4 - AWD (all-wheel-drive)4x4 - AWD (all-wheel-drive)

Nissan X-Trail 2007: It has selectable four-wheel drive with Auto, 2WD and Lock modes. In Auto mode, it has front-wheel drive under normal conditions, the rear axle engages when the front wheels start to slip, and power is distributed variably up to 50:50 front to rear. In 2WD mode, the transfer clutch is permanently unlocked, but the electronic control unit can engage the rear wheels occasionally, for example during hard acceleration. In Lock mode, the transfer clutch is permanently locked, providing a constant 50:50 power distribution. When vehicle speed increases above 30 km/h (20 mph), it switches to Auto mode, but when speed decreases, it switches back to Lock mode. The system also switches to 2WD mode in the event of overheating.

Volvo XC60 2008: The car is fitted with Haldex Generation IV proactive automatic all-wheel drive. Haldex processes data from the ABS control unit and the engine control unit and can increase the pressure on the multi-disc clutch for faster engagement when required. It has a 100% front to 0% rear torque split when not engaged with a maximum 50% to 50% torque split between axes.

Ground clearance: 200 mm (7.9 inches)230 mm (9.1 inches)
Because of the higher ground clearance, Volvo XC60 can perform better on bad roads - it can go over higher obstacles and bumps. At the same time, the higher ground clearance can reduce stability and handling on paved roads, especially at higher speeds.
Nissan X-Trail 2007 2.0 engine: The engine has a good power to fuel consumption ratio and, with careful maintenance, a long service life. The most common problems with these engines are with the fuel injection system and lubrication.

Dimensions

Length: 4.63 m4.63 m
Width: 1.78 m1.89 m
Height: 1.68 m1.71 m
Nissan X-Trail and Volvo XC60 are practically the same length.
Trunk capacity: 479 litres495 litres
Trunk max capacity:
with rear seats folded down
1742 litres1455 litres
Nissan X-Trail has 16 litres less trunk space than the Volvo XC60. The maximum boot capacity (with all rear seats folded down) is larger in Nissan X-Trail (by 287 litres).
Turning diameter: 10.8 meters11.9 meters
The turning circle of the Nissan X-Trail is 1.1 metres less than that of the Volvo XC60, which means Nissan X-Trail can be easier to manoeuvre in tight streets and parking spaces.
Power steering: Electric power steeringHydraulic power steering
Electric power steering is simpler, quieter, more fuel-efficient, more configurable and provides additional features such as auto-steering for lane assist and parking. The disadvantages of electric power steering are possible overheating under prolonged load conditions and insufficient feedback (feeling) during steering.
