Jeep Compass 2006: It has Freedom Drive I - an electronically controlled four-wheel drive system. Normally the car is in front-wheel drive, but if wheel slip is detected, it can automatically send up to 50% power to the rear wheels. The system is primarily designed for snow and similar conditions with limited traction. Nissan X-Trail 2007: It has selectable four-wheel drive with Auto, 2WD and Lock modes. In Auto mode, it has front-wheel drive under normal conditions, the rear axle engages when the front wheels start to slip, and power is distributed variably up to 50:50 front to rear.
