The Lexus CT is a compact hybrid hatchback introduced in 2011. It features a 1.8-liter inline-four petrol engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of approximately 134 horsepower. The powertrain uses an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and is equipped with a nickel-metal hydride battery. Built on the Toyota New MC platform, the CT shares several components with the Toyota Auris.
The CT received its first significant update in 2014, adopting the Lexus "Spindle" grille for a refreshed design. Another facelift followed in 2017, introducing full LED headlights and a larger grille while maintaining the original hybrid powertrain configuration throughout its production. By the end of its lifecycle in October 2022, approximately 380,000 units had been sold globally across 65 countries. Production concluded with a special edition named Cherished Touring.
In user reviews, the Lexus CT 200h is often appreciated for its excellent fuel economy, premium interior materials, and reputation for reliability. However, some users criticize its modest acceleration, limited rear passenger space, and the somewhat outdated and unintuitive infotainment system compared to competitors.
