The Honda S2000, produced from 1999 to 2009, is a renowned two-seater roadster celebrated for its high-revving engine and exceptional handling. The first generation, known as the AP1 (1999–2003), was equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine (F20C) that produced 240 horsepower at 8,300 rpm and 153 lb-ft of torque at 7,500 rpm. This engine allowed the S2000 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 6.2 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h. The AP1 featured a front-mid engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, and a 50:50 weight distribution, contributing to its agile handling. It also boasted a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

In 2004, Honda introduced the AP2 version, which continued until 2009. The AP2 featured a larger 2.2-liter engine (F22C1) in some markets, offering improved mid-range torque. The AP2 also included suspension and chassis refinements to enhance stability and ride comfort.

In user reviews, the Honda S2000 is praised for its precise handling, responsive steering, and engaging driving experience. The high-revving engine, with a redline at 9,000 rpm, provides exhilarating performance, especially when accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 6.2 seconds. However, some owners note that the engine's peak power requires maintaining high RPMs, which may not suit all driving styles. The compact interior is appreciated for its driver-focused design, though taller individuals may find it somewhat cramped. Additionally, the firm suspension, while beneficial for spirited driving, can result in a stiffer ride on rough roads. Overall, the S2000 is regarded as a reliable and thrilling sports car that offers a pure driving experience.
