Fiat Bravo is a compact hatchback produced in two distinct generations, with the second and more relevant modern version built between 2007 and 2014. Positioned in the European C-segment, it was designed as a stylish and affordable alternative to mainstream competitors, emphasizing design and comfort rather than outright sportiness.

The second-generation Bravo (2007–2014) was built on Fiat’s C-platform and offered exclusively as a five-door hatchback. Engine options included a range of petrol and diesel units, such as 1.4-liter petrol engines producing between 90 and 150 horsepower, including turbocharged T-Jet versions, as well as 1.6- and 2.0-liter Multijet diesel engines delivering strong torque and good fuel efficiency. Transmissions included 6-speed manual gearboxes and, in some versions, automated manual systems. The chassis setup prioritized ride comfort, with relatively soft suspension tuning compared to some competitors.

A facelift in 2010 introduced minor exterior updates, improved interior materials, and revised engine options to meet stricter emissions standards. The model also featured a wide range of equipment depending on trim level, including dual-zone climate control, infotainment systems with Blue&Me connectivity, and various safety systems such as stability control and multiple airbags.

In user reviews, the Fiat Bravo is often described as a car that wins people over with its looks before anything else. Owners frequently mention its Italian styling as a key attraction, along with comfortable seats and smooth highway manners. Diesel engines are appreciated for their pulling power and efficiency, especially on longer journeys. However, some drivers note that interior plastics can feel inconsistent in quality, electronics may occasionally be unreliable, and the handling is more relaxed than engaging. For many, it remains a sensible yet slightly characterful option in the compact class.

Is Fiat Bravo a reliable car?

The Fiat Bravo is not a reliable car, it regularly ranks near the bottom of car reliability ratings and is outperformed by 90% of other cars in terms of the number of defects found during annual inspections.

Based on annual roadworthiness tests results, the Fiat Bravo generation produced from 2007 to 2010 received the highest reliability ratings, but overall the reliability scores of all tested Fiat Bravo generations are quite similar.
