The Dacia Logan is a compact budget-class sedan first introduced in 2004, designed to provide a simple and reliable vehicle at an affordable price. Built on the B0 platform, the Logan is available in several body styles, including sedan, wagon (MCV), and van (Van).

The first generation (2004–2012) gained popularity in Europe and other markets due to its durable construction and low maintenance costs. Engine options included both petrol and diesel versions, such as 1.4 and 1.6-liter petrol engines and a 1.5-liter dCi diesel. The second generation, launched in 2012, introduced a more modern design, improved sound insulation, and upgraded equipment. TCe turbocharged petrol engines and automatic or Easy-R transmissions became available in some versions.

The third generation was introduced in 2020 with a more modern design and improved ergonomics. Safety features were also enhanced, including emergency braking systems and a rearview camera. The Logan continues to be offered as a practical and straightforward vehicle aimed at meeting daily mobility needs at a reasonable price.

In user reviews, the Dacia Logan is often praised for its reliability, low fuel consumption, and simple yet spacious interior. Users particularly value its affordability and easy maintenance. Criticisms are mainly directed at the basic design, sound insulation, and less dynamic handling. Despite these drawbacks, the Logan remains a popular choice as a practical everyday car with a strong price-to-value ratio.

Is Dacia Logan a reliable car?

The Dacia Logan is not a reliable car, it regularly ranks near the bottom of car reliability ratings and is outperformed by 100% of other cars in terms of the number of defects found during annual inspections.

Based on annual roadworthiness tests results, the Dacia Logan generation produced from 2013 to 2016 received the highest reliability ratings, while the models produced from 2007 to 2008 had the lowest reliability ratings, but overall the reliability scores of all tested Dacia Logan generations are quite similar.

Most Dacia Logan are equipped with timing belt engines, which are generally considered less reliable than timing chain engines.
