Volvo V70 2004 reviews
Pros: A great family car, the 5-cylinder D5 diesel has proven itself and is a joy every time you rev it up, but don't think you're going to be a total Schumacher, the power is perfectly adequate for such a large estate.
All I can say about the engine is to change the oil and filters at the usual intervals and it too will run long and reliably like a quality clock. I had the 163 hp version.
Big trunk - you can even load a sofa if you really want to. When you fold down the rear seats and go fishing, you can leave the tent at home, as there's plenty of room for you and your girlfriend to stretch out in the boot. By sliding the front straps as far forward as possible, I was able to stretch out to my full length, I'm 1.85m tall.
The ride is soft and comfortable, not to be compared with an S-Class Mercedes of course, but for a car in this class the comfort is more than good.
I recommend the heated seats, in winter it's cooler when the seats are heated.
Appearance is a matter of taste, for me personally the appearance was greatly improved by fitting the right wheels.
This is a reliable car, never let it down on the road, despite the fact that my specimen was pretty thoroughly damaged.
Suspension is robust, and if you do have to replace something you can forget about it for a long time.
Cons: These V70s have a large turning circle, where another car turns in one go, you'll only turn in two.
In the back it's a bit of a squeak if driver is at least 1.80m in front and push the seats back, in the back it's a squeak, especially if you're also around 1.80, but that's probably because the trunk is so big.
I didn't like the front pillars, if you make a sharp left turn with a pedestrian crossing just beyond, for example, the pillar blocks your line of sight, you can miss the pedestrian.
To change the bulb on the left-hand front lamp, you need to remove the air intake tube with all the attachments, otherwise you can't really get at the bulb from the inside, physically you can stick your hand in there, but to feel the bulb hit its place and force it with a latch is very difficult.
The car is already old and it is quite difficult to find a live one, most of them are already very tired and unmaintained.

Pros: The car is economical and durable with mileage up to 350,000, because a normal Volvo that has that mileage shouldn't really have a problem. My car has mileage plus 150k because the mileage is corrected, but it shouldn't be as much of a problem as me, because the previous Volvo V70 was the first generation where no repairs had to be invested at all, except for the running gear, which is normal for Latvian roads. The car has a large boot and is a durable machine because Swedish engineers have made a lot for car last longer. It goes well through forests and country roads and without any problems. An economical machine if the accelerator pedal is not pressed too much. Across the city on average about 7 liters, but you can also crawl even under 6 liters and the highway 4.5-5 l per 100km / h. The machine is pretty good and I recommend it for large families
Cons: If the car has a high mileage, then you will have to invest in repairs, because the cost of repairs is not small and the parts also cost money. Large turning radius, but people who are used to buses and big cars, then it's nothing but people who have driven small cars, then it may seem a problem. The additional equipment is not rich, but on the one hand thinking, if the electronics are too much, then it complicates life and can go out of order. Electronics tend to fade, which is a weak side of Swedish cars.

Pros: Everything is satisfactory. Those who complain about the turning radius should drive a Dacia or learn to drive. It's all for safety's sake so you don't have to change the axle, tyres, steering ends - the suspension is longer lasting at the expense of turning circle. I drive a d5 136 kw, no problems so far, just give it a go!
Cons: There's no better car. Friends who have switched from audi or bmw to volvo will never go back. The men will understand, the boys will drool.
