Acceleration 0-100 km/h: 12.5 seconds13.1 seconds
Honda CR-V engine produces 12 HP less power than Nissan X-Trail, whereas torque is 10 NM less than Nissan X-Trail. Despite less power, Honda CR-V reaches 100 km/h speed 0.6 seconds faster.

Fuel consumption

Fuel consumption (l/100km): 10.210.0
Honda CR-V consumes 0.2 litres more fuel per 100 km than the Nissan X-Trail, which means that if you drive 15,000 km in a year, the Honda CR-V could require 30 litres more fuel.
Fuel tank capacity: 58 litres60 litres
Full fuel tank distance: 560 km in combined cycle600 km in combined cycle
680 km on highway740 km on highway
Nissan X-Trail gets more mileage on one fuel tank.

Drive type

Wheel drive type: 4x4 - AWD (all-wheel-drive)4x4 - AWD (all-wheel-drive)

Honda CR-V 1997: Car has Honda`s real-time four-wheel drive system, which sends torque to the front wheels under normal conditions. Multi-plate clutch transfers torque to rear axle when wheel slip is detected (pressure is applied to clutch by dual pump system). To allow ABS to work smoothly, the clutch is also disengaged during braking.

Nissan X-Trail 2001: It has selectable four-wheel drive with Auto, 2WD and Lock modes. In Auto mode, it has front-wheel drive under normal conditions, the rear axle engages when the front wheels start to slip, and power is distributed variably up to 50:50 front to rear. In 2WD mode, the transfer clutch is permanently unlocked, but the electronic control unit can engage the rear wheels occasionally, for example during hard acceleration. In Lock mode, the transfer clutch is permanently locked, providing a constant 50:50 power distribution. When vehicle speed increases above 30 km/h (20 mph), it switches to Auto mode, but when speed decreases, it switches back to Lock mode. The system also switches to 2WD mode in the event of overheating.

Engines

Average engine lifespan: 480'000 km280'000 km
Engine resource depends largely on regular maintenance and the quality of the oils and fuels used, but under equal conditions the average life of a Honda CR-V engine could be longer.
Engine production duration: 7 years12 years
Engine spread: Used only for this carInstalled on at least 3 other car models, including Nissan Primera, Nissan Serena, Nissan Sentra
In general, the longer and for more car models an engine is produced, the better its serviceability and availability of spare parts. Nissan X-Trail might be a better choice in this respect.

Dimensions

Length: 4.53 m4.51 m
Width: 1.75 m1.76 m
Height: 1.68 m1.68 m
Both cars are similar in size. Honda CR-V is 2 cm longer than the Nissan X-Trail, 1 cm narrower the height of the cars does not differ significantly.
Trunk capacity: 375 litres410 litres
Trunk max capacity:
with rear seats folded down
670 litres1841 litres
Nissan X-Trail has more luggage space.
Despite its longer length, Honda CR-V has 35 litres less trunk space than the Nissan X-Trail. This could mean that the Honda CR-V uses more space in the cabin, so the driver and passengers could be more spacious and comfortable. The maximum boot capacity (with all rear seats folded down) is larger in Nissan X-Trail (by 1171 litres).
Turning diameter: 10.6 meters11 meters
The turning circle of the Honda CR-V is 0.4 metres less than that of the Nissan X-Trail, which means Honda CR-V can be easier to manoeuvre in tight streets and parking spaces.
